More Facebook Tips
Last time I talked about the difference between Pages and Profiles, the pros and cons of each, and a little how-to. I wanted to follow up with just a few tips I’ve picked up along the way about how to post and what to post on your Social Media. *For those of you waiting for more spiritual type posts, I’m on it. Stay tuned.* Thoughts on Goals It’s not my goal to sell books on social media. Selling books on social is almost impossible anyway. The goal, for me, is to build a com

Be a Facebook Super Hero
You need a page, not just a profile This is first. Create a PAGE. This is not your FB profile. You can tell the diff easily. On a profile, you “Friend” people and they “Friend” you. On a page, they LIKE you. You need to have a profile first, but profiles aren’t professional pages. You need a professional PAGE. Here’s why: It’s against FB terms of service to use a profile for a business. Profiles limit the number of friends to 5000. Pages are limitless. With Pages “Insights,”

5 Signs You Need A Break
Shattered Sisters, I was mentally, physically, and spiritually exhausted. But I did what I always do, took a day or two off, and then started the next book. It didn’t work. In fact I was on the verge of burnout and didn’t even know it. The first sign The very first sign of trouble was months ago, when every spiritual teacher I follow blogged, wrote or talked about burnout. Some specifically discussed how doing so much and expanding so rapidly had got the best of them, and how

6 Secret Fitness Weapons for Computer Jockeys
Fatrepreneurs, Listen Up Look, I know that those of us who are making our living by writing fiction or creating any other kind of art, or marketing anything online, spend inordinate amounts of time sitting still. It comes with the territory. I have a few secret weapons that I use, and I think you’re going to like them. It's Easier Than You Think You do not have to become Sarah Connor doing pull ups in her cell. (Warning, dated T2 reference!) Just find something you enjoy doin

How to Do More, Better Work in Less Time
Hi, Creators! Today I want to share an effective method to produce more work, and better work, in less time, something those of us who work out of our homes need desperately. It’s a method called segmenting. What is Segmenting? Afterward, you can take a break, (but you need to set a time limit on that too!) Do something fun, go outside, take a walk, get a coffee, read your email, and then move on to another thing from your to-do list, and devote a given amount of time to that

Murphy’s Law of Attraction
Law of Attraction: That which is like unto itself is drawn. Murphy’s Law of Attraction: Things only appear to be going wrong. Look closer and you’ll see they’re not only going perfectly, they’re going the only way they can at the moment, and in the process, they are forcing you to solve problems and to overcome obstacles that stand between you and your goals. The Storyteller’s Role in a Changing World
But first, let’s talk about what’s really happening in our world. Humans Fear Change Where we are and where we’ve been are comfortable places. Maybe not perfect. Maybe vastly imperfect. But we know them. They’re familiar and safe. Change, on the other hand, is new. We can’t know what something new will feel like. So we cling to the familiar. And when I say “we” I mean humankind. But Change is Inevitable So here’s a microcosm of the big picture, illustrated in a little story.

When Biz is Bad, Turn it Around
You know, sales are slumping, the writing isn’t going well, the technology is wonky, and Amazon is doing all the things the “Sky is falling” gang are always accusing it of. That kind of bad. As soon as you start fighting against trends like this, scrambling to fix them, to make corrections, you’re shifting all of your focus to what’s going wrong. And if you’ve been reading me for more than a couple of weeks, you know what that means; you’re creating more of the same. Your foc
