Winter, Solitude, and Feeling Better
It struck me today how we in the northern hemisphere are entering winter, the dark part of the year, at the same time the pandemic is forcing us to become even more isolated. For the first time in my memory, we won’t be doing a whole family get-together for Thanksgiving or Christmas. And I thought how, to people of magic, to mystics and witches and those tuned into nature, that’s what the winter months are all about. Especially the dates around the Winter Solstice, the short

Being Thankful is Good For You
Happy Thanksgiving! As I go through this blessed journey that is my lifetime, I can see the difference it makes. All around me, people I know and love are focused on the tragedies in their lives, the losses, the troubled relatives, the broken families, the pain. And it seems to be the main topic of conversation for them. They think they are thankful and grateful for their many blessings, but frankly, you can’t be both grateful and complaining at the same time. The two vibrati

Autumnal Musings
Attuning with Nature's Cycles Creates Alignment Attuning myself to the patterns of nature is, for me, the most beautiful path to alignment. And when I’m aligned, I match the vibration of all the things I’ve been wanting, and none of the things I have not. So the unwanted things fall away, and the wanted things come rolling into this experience I call reality. Fall feels like crossing the finish line There’s just something about autumn, isn’t there? Especially where I live, he

Blue Moon Lammas Eve Thoughts
Last night, I spent some time out on the back porch looking up at the moon and letting my mind go quiet. I’ve been letting myself tense up over the upcoming new book release, only three days away now, and I know that being all tense and jittery about its performance is the best way for me to ensure it does less than it could. By being nervous, I’m confirming that I’m not certain it will do well. I have been trying to let go of it, to accept in peace and grace that it will rea

22 Days of Gratitude
This month on my Facebook Page, readers are joining me in expressing gratitude each day from November 1st – Thanksgiving (in the US, November 22nd.) I’ve blogged elsewhere about The True Meaning of Appreciation, but I wanted to touch on it here too. To appreciate something, we don’t just notice it and add it our list of “things I’m thankful for.” Rather, we notice the thing, and then we take some time to bask in it. We spend a few moments truly relishing this person, place
