Everything Is New Again!

The energy of this day is powerful, and it’s the energy of rebirth. The time between now and mid-summer is a time of rapid growth and expansion. That’s certainly the feel of things in my neck of the woods.

This blog has been reborn. We are now BlissBlog.org, and that’s just the beginning of our growth and expansion this season. We have a lot in store for you, and I hope you’ll stay for the ride.

I have a newsletter just for BlissBlog folks, and while I haven’t sent out a single issue yet, the sign up form is at the bottom of this page. Right now we’re just building a subscriber base. Soon we’ll be using the mailer as a vehicle to send you even more juicy, life enhancing, career growing, yummy bits of wisdom. We’ll be having guest posts from wise women-creative entrepreneurs who want to share their secrets to success. And if the Force is with me (and it always is!) we’ll have even more exciting new things to share with you soon.

Tapping into the Energy of the Equinox Ritual

You’ll need:

  1. Several small flowerpots

  2. Potting Soil (I like organic)

  3. Seeds of your choice (I like heritage, using sunflower seeds for this rite)

  4. Several small pieces of paper

  5. Colored pens or pencils

  6. Toothpicks

Preparation

Fill the pots with potting soil mix before you begin. The number of pots depends on the number of areas of your life you want to grow and expand this year. Read through the ritual and get those ideas in mind. Set aside a quiet time when you won’t be interrupted. If you can do this work outside or in a sunny place within your home, all the better. Set the mood in any way you like, use music, incense, whatever. Choose scents and tunes that speak spring to you.

Take 3 seeds and hold them in your palm. Press your hands together as if in prayer. Close your eyes, and basking in the sunshine, imagine the area of your life you want to grow. Imagine what it will look and feel like when it’s in full blossom. Speak about it. And dream big! Don’t focus on the work you need to do to get there, just keep your focus on the outcome, the result, the fruit you’re going to harvest in the fall.

You might feel your palms begin to warm and tingle. That tingling is a very good sign. Try to keep the focus going until it stops.

Then plant the seeds in the first flower pot. If you like you can say these words, or write a verse of your own.

Tiny seeds in fertile ground Tiny kernels small and round Looking at you, who would know The worlds inside about to grow I plant you with a sacred kiss And as you grow, so will my wish

You can blow a kiss to the seeds as you plant them, or kiss each seed before planting.

Repeat the ritual for each wish you have identified. Use the slips of paper to write the name of your wish, or draw an image that represents your wish (or both) and stick a toothpick through it to hold it up like a sign in the soil.

*I like using 3 seeds in each pot to ensure at least one will grow, and also because 3 is a powerful number that symbolizes combining two things to create something new. It’s the number of rebirth. **Often, I soak the seeds in very wet paper towels for a few days before the ritual, and then choose those that have begun to sprout. ***When the plants grow big enough, you can transplant them into permanent pots or plant outside.
